Our Journey

Rocky View Foundation (RVF) has a long-standing legacy of serving our community with dedication and care. Our journey began in the 1960s with the construction of the original Rocky View Lodge in Crossfield. As the demand for senior housing grew, so did our vision.

By the late 1970s, we expanded our reach with the opening of Big Hill Lodge in Cochrane, followed by the construction of Crossroads Manor in Beiseker in 1982.

Construction began on the new Rocky View Lodge in 2010, and by the summer of 2012, a brand-new, two-storey lodge welcomed its first residents, offering modern comforts and a warm, supportive environment. That same year, we expanded our efforts in Airdrie by renovating Diamond Jubilee Manor & Suites, adding 12 new affordable housing units. The residence now provides 32 suites, offering seniors an independent and affordable place to call home.

Our growth continued into 2017 when we took over the management of Evergreen Manor in Cochrane.

In 2021, we expanded once again with the purchase of what is now known as Abrio Place in Airdrie. This acquisition marked a significant step forward in our mission. Today, Abrio Place stands as a hub of community, creativity, and connection, offering a range of programs and services designed to enhance the well-being of its residents.

In 2022, Rocky View Foundation continued to expand its impact by managing the Rental Assistance Benefit (RAB) for Rocky View County. This program plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families by easing the financial burden of housing and promoting stability. RVF continues its commitment to providing accessible, affordable housing options for those in need.

Throughout the years, we have embraced change, always striving to grow and improve. Our dedication to innovation and community care ensures that the spaces we create remain welcoming, inclusive, and supportive—giving every individual the opportunity to thrive, connect, and feel at home.

Our Vision for the Future

At Rocky View Foundation, we are committed to leading the transformation of affordable housing in Rocky View County, creating vibrant and innovative communities that meet the evolving needs of our residents.

Our goal is to expand our impact by developing sustainable, inclusive housing solutions that provide more than just a place to live—they foster connection, well-being, and opportunity. We will forge strategic partnerships across various sectors, enhance our service offerings, and explore new funding opportunities to achieve this. Through land and building acquisitions, we aim to increase housing capacity and ensure everyone in our region can access safe, affordable, and enriching living environments.

By thinking boldly and acting collaboratively, we are shaping the future of affordable housing—one that is innovative, supportive, and built to uplift our entire community.
